Division leading Golden Knights open road trip in Minneapolis looking for season sweep of the Wild

Riding a three-game winning streak, the Vegas Golden Knights skate into the Target Center on Tuesday night for the series finale against the Minnesota Wild looking to complete a sweep in a matchup of playoff bound squads. The Wild saw their three-game winning streak snapped in Dallas on Monday night and now for the second night in a row take on a premier team in the Western Conference as they continue a stretch of 10 out of 11 games at home. Vegas has dominated this series winning 10 of the last 12 meetings in this series including four in a row dating back to March of 2024.

Powered by a pair of 30-goal scorers, the Golden Knights rank fourth in the National Hockey League scoring 3.37 goals per game and have scored three or more goals in five of their last six games. Vegas center Tomas Hertl leads the team with 31 goals this season after posting four goals in his last two games including a hat trick in a 6-3 home win over Detroit on Saturday. Hertl, a first-round pick by San Jose in the 2017 NHL Draft, was acquired by Vegas at the trade deadline last season and is one point shy of his fourth career 60-point campaign and third in the last four years.

Despite ranking next to last in the league on the penalty kill, Minnesota is 10th in the NHL allowing just 2.77 goals per game as goaltender Filip Gustavsson experiences a breakout season. In his third year with the Wild, Gustavsson has posted career highs in wins and shutouts, and ranks second in the NHL with his .918 save percentage.

The Golden Knights have won four straight trips to Minneapolis dating back to March of 2022 with each of the last three victories coming by one goal each.
