The Minnesota Wild, on the 2nd night of a back-to-back, visit the Colorado Avalanche in a Central Division matchup

The Minnesota Wild (34-21-4, 72 points) have dropped their last two games and head into their key Central Division clash on Friday night with the Colorado Avalanche (34-24-2, 70 points) on the back end of a road back-to-back. The Avalanche enter the game at Ball Arena in Denver off a win on Wednesday night after getting forward Valeri Nichushkin back in the lineup after he missed nearly two months with a lower-body injury. Minnesota lost center Joel Eriksson Ek to a lower-body injury on Monday and placed him on injured reserve, further cutting into their forward depth, with Kirill Kaprizov out most of the last two months with a lower-body injury and Ryan Hartman serving an eight-game suspension.
