The Edmonton Oilers host the Minnesota Wild on Thursday with both teams looking for back-to-back wins.

Both the Minnesota Wild and Edmonton Oilers are coming off wins heading into this Thursday night showdown between Western Conference foes. Minnesota is having a great bounce back season so far after last year and are currently in second place in the Central division only behind Winnipeg who had a historic start to the season.

Minnesota is coming off a 4-2 win on the road against the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday. Kirill Kaprizov led the way for the Wild, scoring two goals, including an empty net to seal the game. Ryan Hartman scored the first and only first period goal and Jonas Brodin scored late in the third period soon after the Blues tied the game.

Edmonton is coming off a comfortable win against the Ottawa Senators on the road, winning 5-2 on Tuesday. The game was tied in the first period but then the Oilers ran away with it after Connor McDavid scored a pair of goals to end the first period. Edmonton would score four goals in a row before Ottawa scored again, which was late in the third. McDavid also added an assist to easily win the first star of the game.

The Oilers are currently fourth in the Pacific division, but are only two points off the lead which they have a good shot making up tonight at home.
