Marc-André Fleury makes a final start in Pittsburgh as the Minnesota Wild visit the Pittsburgh Penguins on Tuesday

Marc-André Fleury, who turns 40 next month, plans to retire at the end of the 2024-25 season. On Tuesday night, the Minnesota Wild (5-1-2, 12 points) goaltender is set to make what will likely be his final start at PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh when the Wild visit the Pittsburgh Penguins (3-6-1, 7 points). Fleury helped backstop the Penguins to three Stanley Cup titles, as the starter in 2009 and 2017 and a backup in 2016. Minnesota is 4-1-1 as it closes out its seven-game road trip while Pittsburgh comes home after a 0-3-1 Western trip and has lost five in a row overall.

The Wild had a four-game winning streak snapped on Saturday giving up four third-period goals in a 7-5 road loss at the Philadelphia Flyers. Fleury did not play in the game while Marcus Foligno scored his first two goals of the season in the loss. Four players — Kirill Kaprizov, Matt Boldy, Mats Zuccarello and Joel Eriksson Ek — have four goals each for Minnesota while Kaprizov leads the club with 15 points. Fleury has made two starts and is 1-0-1 with a .900 save percentage and 2.89 goals-against average.

The Penguins finished their road trip on Saturday, allowing four second-period goals in a 4-3 loss to the Vancouver Canucks. Evgeny Malkin had a hand in all the scoring with a goal and two assists. Richard Rakell and Lars Eller lead the squad with four goals apiece and Malkin has three goals and a team-high 14 points. Joel Blomqvist is 2-3-0 in five starts with a .911 save percentage and 3.34 GAA.

Minnesota played without captain Jared Spurgeon (lower body) and forward Ryan Hartman (upper body) at Philadelphia while Pittsburgh forward Cody Glass sat out Saturday’s game in Vancouver due to illness.
