After their six-game winning streak was snapped on Tuesday, the Pacific Division leading Vegas Golden Knights return to T-Mobile Arena on Thursday night to take on the Winnipeg Jets who own the NHL’s best record but are winless against Vegas this season. The Jets have won seven of their last 10 games and are one of three teams to have tallied over 100 points this season as they cling to a narrowing four-point lead over Dallas for the Central Division crown. Winnipeg has lost nine games in a row and 11 of the last 12 against Vegas including their defeat to the Golden Knights in the first round of the playoffs in 2023.

Paced by goaltender Connor Hellebuyck’s dominating season, the Jets own the NHL’s best scoring defense allowing just 2.35 goals per game. Hellebuyck leads the league in wins, goals against average, save percentage and shutouts and is zeroing in on the winningest season for a goaltender in league history. A fifth-round pick by Winnipeg in 2012 Hellebuyck has 43 wins this season, one shy of equaling his career high set during the 2017-18 campaign and is now within five wins of Braden Holtby’s all-time single-season wins mark of 48 set in 2015-16.

Vegas center Jack Eichel leads the team with 93 points this season, the most in the veterans 10-year career. The number two overall pick in the 2015 NHL Draft, Eichel has flourished since joining the Golden Knights in 2021 helping lead Vegas to the Stanley Cup championship in 2023.

The Golden Knights own the league’s top ranked power play unit that is converting on 30.6% of chances with the man advantage and have scored six power play goals in their last six games.
