The Avalanche ride a 17-game home-ice winning streak and have won their last two games. Toronto welcomed back center William Nylander, who had been out since Dec. 27 in its win on Saturday night.

Joseph Woll recorded his second shutout of the season, stopping 29 shots on Saturday night, as Toronto blanked the visiting Vancouver Canucks 5-0. Nylander had a goal and two assists in his return to the lineup and Max Domi also scored a goal. Matias Maccelli gave the Maple Leafs the lead with a power-play market at 8:03 of the first period before Domi and Nylander made it a 3-0 game by the end of the frame. John Tavares and Nicholas Robertson also tallied goals in the win.

Trent Miner logged his first career NHL shutout on Saturday night, making 29 saves in Colorado’s 4-0 win over the visiting Columbus Blue Jackets. Brent Burns scored a pair of goals and Ilya Solovyov also lit the lamp, as did Victor Olofsson. Burns’ first goal came at 13:58 of the first period and he closed the scoring at 8:33 of the third.

Auston Matthews leads the Maple Leafs with 21 goals, while Tavares has 16 and Nylander tops the club with 44 points. Woll improved to 10-4-2 in 17 starts with a .919 save percentage and 2.52 goals against average. Nathan McKinnon leads the NHL with 36 goals and 78 points, with Martin Nečas checking in with 20 goals. Scott Wedgewood is 19-3-4 in 28 starts with two shutouts, a .917 save percentage and a 2.19 GAA.
