The Minnesota Wild look to avoid losing three in a row in this season-series finale against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday.

The Minnesota Wild go for the season-series victory over their division rivals in the finale against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday night. The Wild lead this series 2-1 after winning back-to-back, with Winnipeg taking the series opener. The Wild won Game 3 in Winnipeg, 4-3 in overtime, back at the end of last month. Matt Boldy scored the game-winner in the extra period just 39 seconds in. Mats Zuccarello scored on the power play with just 38 seconds remaining in the third period to even force overtime. Boldy scored the first goal of the game for the Wild as well, but the Wild had to come back after the Jets went up 3-2 with just three seconds left in the second on a goal from Mark Scheifele. But Winnipeg couldn’t score again. The good news for the Jets right now is that they are on a four-game winning streak. This is all while the Wild are trying to avoid losing three in a row, as they’ve already lost four of their last five. Minnesota will still be the -165 favorite to bounce back and win this series tonight.

Winnipeg extended its winning streak to three games after beating the New York Islanders at home 5-4 on Tuesday. Adam Lowry and Kyle Connor both notched a goal and an assist to help lead the Jets to victory. Winnipeg scored the first three goals of the game, but the Islanders came storming back in the second to tie the game. Dylan DeMelo earned the second star by breaking the tie in the middle of the second, and then first-star Lowry scored his goal to give the Jets some breathing room with just 20 seconds left in the period.

The Wild lost 5-2 to the New Jersey Devils at home on Monday. Jesper Bratt and Ondrej Palat both scored twice to put the game out of reach for Minnesota. Ryan Hartman scored the first goal for Minnesota to tie the game at one midway through the second. But the Devils scored four unanswered to run away with the game. Minnesota didn’t score again until there were only 19 seconds left in regulation on a power-play goal from Marcus Foligno. This game should be more manageable, especially at home, to break this losing streak.
