The Pittsburgh Panthers and North Carolina Tar Heels face off in a Top 25 matchup in college wrestling.
Two of the top programs in the ACC college wrestling take the mat in 15th ranked Pittsburgh (6-5) and 18th ranked North Carolina (9-3). There is just under a month until the conference tournament. The Panthers are coming off a win and look to build momentum in their final home competition of the season. This season the Panthers are led by sophomore Mac Stout, who is ranked seventh in the 197 pound weight class. He is the top ranked wrestler in the ACC as well in the weight class. Stout will take on senior Cade Lautt, ranked 31st in the weight class in what could be the most competitive match on the schedule between the Tar Heels and Panthers.

This season the Panthers also feature senior Reece Heller, ranked 10th in the 184 pound weight class as their only other top 10 ranked individual wrestler. He is also the top ranked wrestler in the ACC in his weight class and trending upwards as of late with his performance.
Junior Lachlan McNeil leads the Tar Heels this season as their only top 10 ranked individual wrestler. He is fifth in the country in the 149 pound weight class, second in the ACC. He will be challenged by sophomore Finn Solomon who is ranked 20th in the weight class.
The Tar Heels are looking to bounce back after a tough loss, which snapped their three game winning streak. They are building momentum and wrestling their best over the last four competitions and have the opportunity to get back on track here against one of the best teams in the ACC.
