The final regular season game in NWSL play will take place on Saturday night for the Seattle Reign and the Orlando Pride.
On Saturday night, the end of the regular season will take place as the Orlando Pride hosts the Seattle Reign at Inter&Co Stadium. For the Reign, it will be their last game of the season as the team failed to make it into postseason play. The team is currently in 12th place in the league table with a record of 6-5-14 for a total of 23 points. The highest the team would be able to finish at this point is 10th place, but only if Seattle can pull off a win against the leading Pride and the Utah Royals and Angel City both drop their final games. Most recently, Seattle played the Houston Dash and walked away with a 2-1 victory. Olivia Marie Athens scored the opening goal for Seattle before the Dash tied things up. The teams played square for the next 40 minutes, Nérilia Mondésir scored the game-winner for the Reign.

The Pride comes into the season finale with a record of 17-6-2 for a total of 57 points and has secured the top playoff spot. Even with a loss on Saturday night, neither the Washington Spirit nor Gotham FC would be able to catch Orlando as they each trail by four points. The club’s most recent game was played against Gotham in which it fell in a 3-1 defeat. Orlando’s lone goal was scored by Adriana in the 31st minute on a penalty kick to tie the game, but Gotham scored two more unanswered goals and the Pride was forced to take a rare loss.
The first round of NWSL playoffs will take place on November 8th, but the Pride’s opponent will not be revealed until the final matches have been completed.
