The fans of the Oregon Ducks get their first look at the 2025 football team on Saturday afternoon in their annual spring football game. The Ducks are entering their second year in the Big Ten and are coming off a conference championship in their first year. They went undefeated through the regular season and then beat Penn State in the Big Ten championship game. Their season came to a screeching halt in the quarterfinals of the playoffs as they were blown out by an Ohio State team that would go on to win the national championship. The Ducks are now looking to defend their title, but will have to do it with a new quarterback as Dillon Gabriel is off to the NHL. Gabriel was great with the Ducks, but with him gone it will likely be Dante Moore who steps in the starting role.

Moore transferred to Oregon after his freshman season at UCLA and he redshirted last year as he was not going to beat out Gabriel for the starting spot.

In nine games with the UCLA Bruins in his freshman season, Moore threw for 11 touchdowns and nine interceptions, getting sacked 16 times.

He has worked on his speed and film study in his time at Oregon in order to make himself better.

“It was more just to get faster, cut down my body fat,” Moore said. “I did really good with that. I got a PR, my fastest speed this spring. Physically, just getting my body cut down, but mentally, watching a lot of film, a lot of NFL quarterbacks, just seeing the way they can just be decisive on the football field. So mentally, I’ve been, you know, learning a lot of concepts and physically cut down the body weight and got the way faster.”

Moore could be the key to the Ducks success this season, but he is just a small piece that will be on display on Saturday in their spring game.
