    Mitch Hupé enters Tuesday as the No. 1 seed in the Chameleon Championship at the World Series of Bowling

    The World Series of Bowling XVI continues on Tuesday at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nevada, with the Chameleon Championship. Two titles have already been claimed in Reno, with Sweden’s Rasmus Edvall claiming the Scorpion Championship on Sunday night before Darren Ong became the first player from Singapore to win a PBA Tour title when he won the Viper Championship on Monday. Canadian Mitch Hupé earned the No. 1 seed for the Chameleon Championship, with the Round of 16 and Round of 8 bowled earlier on Tuesday. The Round of 24 was contested on March 9.

    The top eight players from qualifying earned byes into the round of 16, with Hupé getting the top seed and Yuma Haraguchi taking the No. 2 seed after tying with a total pinfall of 3,083, three pins shy of the PBA’s 12-game scoring record. The other byes went to Lanndyn Carnate, Tun Hakim, Jesper Svensson, Chris Via, Pontus Andersson and Zach Weidman.

    In the round of 16, Hupé faced Thomas Larsen and Weidman played Andrew Anderson. Haraguchi took on EJ Tackett, who is seeking his first Chameleon title after winning Scorpion and Shark championships earlier in his career, with Andersson facing Zach Wilkins in the same bracket.

    The other half of the bracket had Carnate against AJ Johnson and Via facing Kevin McCune while Hakim took on Boog Krol and Svensson matched up with Tomas Käyhkö. The four winners from the Round of 8 will advance to Tuesday night’s finals along with the highest-seeded loser from that round.
