Pittsburgh Steelers at Dallas Cowboys Preview, Betting Odds, How to Watch Live

  •   2 min reads

The Pittsburgh Steelers are the best team in the league. That was in no way a certainty when this season started. To put it in perspective, this time last year Ben Roethlisberger was out for the season and the Steelers had one of the worst offenses behind backup QB Mason Rudolph. The crazy thing is that they still almost made the playoffs on the back of the Pittsburgh defense. They ultimately went 8-8 and missed the playoffs but it could have been way worse.

Through five weeks to open the season, the club went 1-4. In Week 9, this time last year, they were 4-4 and we're mediocre at best. To come together under the leadership under Big Ben while losing Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell goes a long way to show how great a coach that Mike Tomlin is and should go in the hall of fame. Last week against the more than formidable Baltimore Ravens, he became the most winning African American head coach in the history of the league with 140 wins passing Tony Dungy of the Indianapolis Colts and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Regardless of background, Tomlin is one of the greatest coaches of all time. More proof of that fact is the brilliance of this season.

The Steelers will be heavily favored in this game not only because they're the best team in the country but also because the Dallas Cowboys are still sending out their third-string quarterback Ben DiNucci. The Cowboys are in the wilderness right now as they got thumped by a bad Philadelphia Eagles team last week.

DiNucci only had a 21.3 QBR and got sacked four times. He didn't throw any picks but only threw for 180 yards with a 4.5 average per play. They are going to need to rely on him more and perform better if the Cowboys are going to make this one even close. They will be without their back up QB Andy Dalton as he was placed on the COVID-19 reserve list just a week after suffering a brutal concussion against the Washington Football Team. Of course, Dalton is in because Dak Prescott went out against the New York Giants when he broke his ankle and will miss the rest of the season.

The saving grace for the Cowboys is that their division is the worst in football. While they will most likely lose this game, they still have an outside shot of regrouping on offense when Dalton comes back to keep up with the underwhelming NFC East. Either way this will be a premier matchup between two of the greatest franchises in the history of the NFL. Reason enough to tune in.
