It’s a boost for the Blues that a top-five finish will be sufficient to make the cut for Europe’s premier competition on this occasion, but it’s highly doubtful as to whether they will usurp Manchester City just above.
Another concern for Chelsea is the fact its last west London derby ended in more dropped points after drawing 0-0 at Brentford, with Fulham currently looking like the bigger threat in its own backyard.
Road form in particular has been a concern for Chelsea after going nine domestic away games without a win, with the club’s last league away game coming all the way back on Dec. 8.
