Unbeaten since early March, Manchester City looks to solidify its place in next season’s UEFA Champions League as part of a five-team logjam for the final three spots as it plays host to AFC Bournemouth on Tuesday in the penultimate match of the 2024-25 English Premier League campaign. Bournemouth saw its five-game points streak end in a home loss to Aston Villa on Saturday and sits one point behind Fulham for 10^th in the EPL table. The Cherries upset Man City 2-1 in the reverse fixture back in early November behind a ninth-minute goal by Antoine Semenyo ending a 14-match losing streak to City dating back to October of 2015 and its first-ever win against Manchester City in the Premier League.

In his third season with the club, Manchester City’s Erling Haaland has posted 21 goals in 29 matches this season, marking the third time the 24-year-old Norwegian star has eclipsed the 20-goal mark but has scored just once in five previous Premier League matches against Bournemouth. Haaland broke the EPL single-season scoring record in his debut campaign back in 2022-23 netting 36 goals in 33 matches after totaling 62 goals in 67 matches over the span of three seasons in the Bundesliga with Borussia Dortmund.

Bournemouth forward Justin Kluivert leads the team with 12 goals on the season and has amassed 19 goals in his first two seasons with the club. Kluivert, who has made five international appearances with The Netherlands, played professionally in Italy, Germany, France and Spain before joining The Cherries prior to the 2023-24 campaign.

Bournemouth has never collected points in seven trips to Etihad Stadium and has been outscored 28-4 in that span.
