The 1st-place Omaha Supernovas host the expansion Indy Ignite at CHI Health Center on Saturday night

The Omaha Supernovas (12-4) have picked up where they left off in 2024, rising to the top of the Pro Volleyball Federation after winning the league’s inaugural championship. On Friday night, the Supernovas host the Indy Ignite (10-8) at CHI Health Center in Omaha looking for their fourth win of the season over the expansion entry. The Ignite enter play on Saturday in fourth place, one-and-a-half matches ahead of the Vegas Thrill for the final playoff spot. Omaha has won its last four matches while Indy comes in with two consecutive victories.

The Supernovas return home for the first time since March 2 after winning three straight on the road, including a 3-1 (25-23, 18-25, 25-22, 26-24) victory over the Orlando Valkyries on March 15. Ally Batenhorst logged 22 kills in the win while Brooke Nuneviller added 16. Camila Gómez made 22 digs, Kelsie Payne had five blocks and Mac Podraza logged 41 assists.

The Ignite staved off the visiting Columbus Fury on Thursday night, taking a 3-2 (25-21, 25-16, 26-28, 24-26, 15-13) win. Five players had double-digit kills, led by Azhani Tealer’s 17, while Carly Skjodt and Lydia Martin each booked 16. Azhani and Anna DeBeer each posted five blocks, Elena Scott made 24 digs and Sydney Hilley had 68 assists.

Martyn has the best kill percentage in the PVF at 50.8% while Hilley’s 868 assists leads the league while she is tied for fifth with 13 service aces. Tealer is third in the circuit with 261 kills and fourth with 43 blocks. Omaha’s Kaitlyn Hord’s 55 blocks top the PVF, Gómez is tied for third with 222 digs and Nuneviller is fifth with 223 kills and her 213 digs ranks sixth.
