The Boston Fleet (8-6-2, 23 points) picked up their third victory in their last four games on Sunday to move into fourth place in the Professional Women’s Hockey League. On Monday, the Fleet hit the road on the back end of a back-to-back to visit the New York Sirens (7-7-2, 20 points) at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. The Sirens lost their fourth straight game on Saturday and have fallen into last place as the season is just past its midpoint.

Boston battled back from a 2-0 first-period deficit on Sunday to beat the visiting Minnesota Frost 4-2. Susanna Tapani tied the game 1:36 into the third period before Hilary Knight lit the lamp at the 13:23 mark for the go-ahead goal while Tapani and Jill Saulnier each notched a goal and an assist. Tapani’s goal was her team-high seventh of the season while Knight leads the team with 13 points and has six goals. Aerin Frankel is 7-4-1 in 12 starts with a 1.97 goals-against average and .928 save percentage, both marks ranking second in the PWHL.

New York surrendered four goals in a span of 9:09 in the first period and never recovered in a 6-2 road loss to the Montreal Victoire on Saturday. Ella Shelton and Jessie Eldridge scored for the Sirens while Sarah Fillier had a pair of assists and shares the league lead with 17 points. Alex Carpenter leads the team with six goals while Corinne Schroeder is 6-5-1 in 12 starts with a 2.45 GAA and .917 save percentage.

The Fleet have won all three games against New York this season, picking up eight points while the Sirens earned one in a shootout loss on Jan. 31, the first loss of their current losing streak.
