Gabbie Hughes put her team on the board just four minutes into the first period and the 1-0 score lasted until late into the second when Toronto scored two goals five minutes apart to take a 2-1 lead. Tereza Vanišová was able to tie the game up shortly after the third period began and the game went into overtime. Less than a minute into play, Toronto scored, ending the game and earning the overtime victory.

The Fleet has slowly been climbing the standings this season and currently sits in third place with 26 points. Boston has won two games in a row to improve to 6-6-3-2 on the season. On Monday, the team took on the last place New York Sirens, winning 4-1 in front of a home crowd. Hilary Knight scored her seventh and eighth goals of the season to lead the attack while Alina Müller and Jamie Lee Rattray also contributed to the scoring efforts. Aerin Frankel played the full game between the pipes for Boston and made 35 saves on the night to keep her team’s win streak intact.

Boston and Ottawa last met during early January and the game resulted in a tight 2-1 overtime victory for the Fleet.
