The Boston Fleet came up 1 win short of last year’s Walker Cup, opens its new campaign against the Toronto Sceptres

As the Professional Women’s Hockey League opens its second season on Saturday, the original six franchises all return and have nicknames and unique logos for the 2024-25 season. The Boston Fleet, which came up one win short of the Walker Cup title last season, return with coach Courtney Birchard-Kessel at the helm. Boston finished last season 12-9-3 with 35 points, earning the third seed for the playoffs in a tiebreaker over the champion Minnesota Frost. The Fleet take on the Toronto Sceptres, last year’s regular-season champion at 17-7-0 and 47 points before they were upset by Minnesota in the semifinals. Troy Ryan returns as the coach for 2024-25.
