The Montreal Victoire will welcome the Minnesota Frost to Place Bell on Tuesday night for a PWHL matchup. The Frost is currently in third place in the standings with a record of 5-6-4-3 for a total of 26 points. The team has dropped its last three games with the most recent being a 4-2 defeat by the Boston Fleet on Sunday. Kendal Coyne Schofield opened the scoring 11 minutes into the first with assists from Sophie Jacques and Lee Stecklein. Brooke McQuigge extended the lead for Minnesota with a goal two minutes later. Assisting on the goal were Kelly Pannek and Jaques again, but that’s where the scoring stopped for the Frost. Boston scored four unanswered goals to come back and win the game with one goal in the second period and three in the third. Maddie Rooney played the full game in net for Minnesota and made 17 saves on the night.

Montreal is atop the standings with 34 points collected from a record of 9-2-3-1. The team picked up a big win on Saturday against the New York Sirens, playing to a 6-2 victory. The Victoire scored four first period goals to take a big lead over New York. Lina Ljungblom scored the first goal and Abby Boreen followed right behind with the second going in just 34 seconds later. Mariah Keopple scored the third before Ljungblom netted her second of the day. New York was able to cut Montreal’s lead in half, but Mikyla Grant-Mentis and Marie-Philip Poulin scored in the third to close it out. Ann-Renée Desbiens made 28 saves in net for the Victoire to give the team its sixth win in a row.

Montreal and Minnesota last met in mid-January and the game went in Minnesota’s favor with a 4-2 win at home.
