The New York Sirens will look to climb out of last place beginning with a win against the first-place Montreal Victoire on Tuesday.

The first place Montreal Victoire will host the last place New York Sirens on Tuesday night at Place Bell in one of the last few games in regular season play. The Sirens bring a record of 6-4-4-12 into Tuesday night’s game and currently trail the fifth place Ottawa Charge by six points. While a playoff position is unlikely for New York, its not outside the realm of possibility if the team can win its last four games which could potentially move them up several spots in the standings. On Tuesday, the Sirens played the Charge, winning in a strong 6-3 showing. The Charge had a 3-0 lead in the game, but the Sirens scored six unanswered goals to skate away with three points. Jade Downi-Landry finished the game with a brace while Kayle Osborne anchored the defense between the pipes, making 15 saves on the day.

Montreal currently leads the second place Toronto Sceptres by three points and will look to put even more distance between them with a win on Tuesday night in front of a home crowd. The team’s most recent game was played against the Minnesota Frost and resulted in a 4-1 victory. Elaine Chuli let one goal slip past her, but finished the game with 19 saves on the night in net. Marie-Philip Poulin scored her 16th and 17th goals in the win and Laura Stacey also finished the game with two goals as the women powered the offense and helped to add another three points to their tally.

The last time these two teams played took place over two weeks ago and resulted in a 3-2 overtime win for New York. Tune in on Tuesday to see if the Sirens can pull off another upset with a road win.
