The New York Sirens will look to bounce back from a loss on Wednesday with a win against first-place Montreal on Saturday afternoon.

On Saturday afternoon, the New York Sirens will travel to Canada to take on the first place Montreal Victoire in a PWHL matchup. The Sirens are currently in fifth place in the standings with a record of 4-6-3-2 for a total of 20 points. On Wednesday, the team hosted the Boston Fleet, falling in a tough 4-0 defeat. Boston got on the board just before the end of the first to make it a 1-0 game, but New York was able to hold that scoreline until the third period. Three more unanswered goals were scored and the Fleet skated off with a big win. Corinne Schroeder played the full game in net for the Sirens and saw 31 shots on the night, but was only able to come up with 27 saves.

The Victoire is currently leading the PWHL standings with a total of 31 points collected from a record of 8-2-3-1. The team has won five games in a row with the most recent being a 2-1 victory over the Sirens almost two weeks ago. Marie-Philip Poulin finished the game with a brace with both goals being scored in the second period to lead the team to victory. Allyson Simpson added one more goal in the third period to secure the win, marking the Victoire’s longest win streak of the season.

Saturday’s game will be the third meeting between the two teams this season and the series is currently tied up 1-1. The Sirens picked up the win the first time around with a 4-1 victory.
