The final week of PWHL play continues on Tuesday night with a game between the New York Sirens and the Toronto Sceptres.
The New York Sirens will travel to Toronto on Tuesday for their penultimate regular season game against the Sceptres at Coca-Cola Coliseum. The Sirens will conclude their season on Saturday against Montreal as the team has officially been eliminated from playoff contention. New York brings a record of 8-4-4-12 into Tuesday night’s game which has the team in last place in the PWHL standings with 36 points. The team’s most recent game was played against the Minnesota Frost and resulted in a 2-0 win. Taylor Girard opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the second period before Elle Hartje set up Paetyn Levis with an insurance goal in the third period. Corinne Schroeder anchored the defense in net and made 33 saves to earn the shutout.

The Sceptres are currently in second place in the PWHL standings with a record of 12-2-5-9 for a total of 45 points. The team has officially qualified for postseason play and will prepare for that with its final regular season games over the next few days. Toronto has dropped its last two games with the most recent being a 3-0 loss to the third place Boston Fleet on Saturday. The Sceptres were forced to play from behind have conceding the first goal just two minutes into the game. Boston extended the lead nine minutes later and scored its third goal in the second period. Despite taking 29 shots, Toronto was unable to beat Klára Peslarová in net and were forced to take the loss.
The last meeting between New York and Toronto took place a little over a month ago and resulted in a 2-1 victory for Toronto. The Sceptres’ goals were scored by Daryl Watts while New York’s lone goal came from Alex Carpenter.
