The Ottawa Charge will look to move up a spot in the PWHL standings with a road win over the Boston Fleet on Saturday.

The Ottawa Charge will travel to Boston on Saturday for a Professional Women’s Hockey League matchup with the Fleet at the Enterprise Center. The Charge is currently in fifth place in the league table with a record of 9-1-4-11 for a total of 33 points. The team is trailing the fourth place Minnesota Frost by just two points and has the chance to surpass them in the standings with a win on Saturday. Most recently, the Charge took on the last place New York Sirens, falling 6-3 at home. Ottawa came out strong, taking a 3-0 lead behind goals from Rebecca Leslie, Emily Clark and Brianne Jenner, but New York scored six unanswered goals in the third period to take the win right out from underneath the Charge. Gwyneth Philips took the loss in net and finished the game with 28 saves.

Boston has slowly climbed the standings this season, coming from the bottom and landing in third place with a record of 8-6-4-7 for a total of 40 points. The team trails the second place Toronto Sceptres by five points and the leading Montreal Victoire by eight points. Boston’s most recent game was played against Toronto and resulted in a 4-2 loss. Hilary Knight was responsible for both of the Fleet’s goals, marking her 14th and 15th of the season, but it wasn’t enough to hold off the strength of Toronto’s offense. Aerin Frankel made 23 saves in between the pipes for Boston, but was credited with the loss.

Boston and Ottawa last played each other on March 15th and the game resulted in a 5-2 victory for the Fleet.
