The Montreal Victoire look to take sole possession of first place in the PWHL when they face off against the Ottawa Charge on Sunday.

These two Canadian rivals face off on Sunday afternoon in the Professional Women’s Hockey League when the Montreal Victoire and Ottawa Charge face off at a neutral site at the Centre Videotron in Quebec City, Quebec. Montreal is tied for the most points in the league with 20 with the Minnesota Frost who it just beat 4-2 on Friday night in front of a sold-out crowd at Place Bell in Laval, Quebec. Forward Abby Boreen was the big star of the night willing the Victoire to victory scoring two goals. It must have been extra sweet getting revenge on her former team.

The Victorie are actually in first place among all other teams because the win won the rubber match against Minnesota and has two games in hand. Boreen’s first goal was the first goal of the game midway through the first period and was her first on the power play. The forward also scored the last goal of the game to put the icing on the win. Minnesota didn’t score until Montreal was already up 3-0 in the dominating victory. Montreal should be the favorite today especially with these game taking place in its home province.

Montreal is also up 2-0 in this season series but both games have been decided by only one goal. The Charge sit in fourth place in the league with 14 points. Ottawa is coming off a 4-2 loss against the Toronto Sceptres on Tuesday. The win for the Sceptres ended a three-game losing streak and it was their first win on the road. The road only gets tougher from here for the Charge as Ottawa tries to avoid a three-game losing streak of its own today.
