The Montreal Victoire travels to Boston on Tuesday to take on the Fleet in women’s professional hockey action.

The Boston Fleet will welcome the league-leading Montreal Victoire to Tsongas Center on Tuesday night for a PWHL matchup as Boston looks to continue climbing the standings. The Fleet is currently in second place in the standings with a record of 8-5-4-6 for a total of 38 points. The team trails the leading Victoire by six points and leads the third place Toronto Sceptres by two points. On Saturday, the team traveled to take on the Ottawa Charge, winning handily in a 5-2 victory. Alina Müller netted her seventh goal of the season to open the scoring in the second before Ottawa tied it up. Theresa Schafzahl, Hilary Knight, Jill Saulnier and Lexie Adzija scored the next four goals for Boston to take a 5-1 lead and although Ottawa snuck one more in, it was too little, too late.

The Victoire are out front in the standings with a record of 10-6-2-5 for a total of 44 points, but the team will need to bounce back after suffering a 3-2 overtime loss to the last place New York Sirens their last time on the ice. The Sirens took an early lead, scoring just seven minutes into the first to take a 1-0 lead. Maureen Murphy tied things up early in the second, but it was short-lived as New York went ahead again. Kati Tabin scored her fourth goal of the year to square things up once more and send the game into overtime. Less than two minutes into the overtime period, New York’s Maja Nylen Persson put in the game winner.

Montreal and Boston just met last weekend and the game went in the Victoire’s favor in a narrow 3-2 victory. Tune in Tuesday night to see if Boston can move three points closer to the top spot with a win.
