Montreal has been hot all season and have led the league standings for the majority, but the team suffered a setback on Thursday night against second place Toronto, losing 4-1 to put a stop to a three-game win streak. Toronto opened the scoring just five minutes into play and scored three more times in the second to take a commanding 4-0 lead over the Victoire. With only four minutes remaining in the game, Marie-Philip Poulin managed to put one in the back of the net, but that was the only answer Montreal could find. Elaine Chuli was given the start in net for Montreal, but after allowing three goals in 28 minutes of play, she was replaced by Ann-Renée Desbiens who allowed the final goal. The two women combined for 25 saves on the night, but it wasn’t enough.

Montreal and Boston also played each other last weekend and the game went in the Victoire’s favor with a 3-2 overtime win.
