Betts tied his career-high of five hits, while collecting two doubles and two RBIs to send the home crowd home happy.
Ryan Yarbrough pitched well enough to get the win, going five innings while giving up two hits and two runs. Washington was only able to score in the third inning on a Jesse Winker two-run shot. The Dodgers will go for back-to-back wins by starting Landon Knack, who will be making his Major League debut. With a lot of fluctuation in the Dodgers rotation lately, Knack’s fresh face will be a relief after LA went for a bullpen game on Tuesday. Knack should make an immediate impact, ranking as the 13th-best prospect in the Dodgers strong farm system.
Jake Irvin will counter for Washington. He is looking for his first win of the season with a 0-1 record and a 4.24 ERA.
