SailGP wraps up the third and final event in the United States with the Mubadala New York Grand Prix.

The final event in the United States brings the best sailors in the world to New York for the Mubadala New York Grand Prix. The season has seen stops in Los Angeles and San Francisco, California before crossing the country for the final event in the country. The teams and SailGP overall made a massive change in the schedule to make this event happen after moving this date on the calendar from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil to New York. That adds another variable of excitement to this race. In the Race to Abu Dhabi points standings the New Zealand team holds a slight edge over the rest of the field with 35 total points. They are led by driver Peter Burling who will attempt to expand his team’s lead.

Just behind that team is the Canadian team led by Giles Scott with 34 total points. Also in the mix near the top of the standings with 28 points is the French team with Quentin DeLapierre leading the way as the driver.

The rest of the field is sailing into the wind to try and climb the leaderboard and catch New Zealand, Canada and France. That group includes Switzerland (18 points), Red Bull Italy (13 points), Rockwool Den (nine points), Mubadala Brazil (two points), United States (two points) and Ger Deutsche Bank (minus one point).

From here, SailGP sails into international waters with an event in Australi,a followed by Germany, France, Switzerland, Spain and the finals in Abu Dhabi.
