Al-Ittihad can all but secure the Saudi Pro League title when it hosts Al-Fayha in Jeddah on Sunday. Watch the game live and for free on Fubo today.

Just a couple more wins could seal the Saudi Pro League title for Al-Ittihad, who hosts Al-Fayha on Sunday hoping to stretch its six-points lead at the top of the table as the campaign reaches its conclusion. World Cup-winner Laurent Blanc’s side finished last season in fifth but now sit on the verge of lifting their second league title in three campaigns, thanks in large part to the scoring exploits of Karim Benzema. Al-Fayha, meanwhile, sits 12th in the table and is still battling to stave off the relegation threat, with just four points between it and the bottom three with four games left to play.

The People’s Club underlined their title credentials on Wednesday when they came back from two goals down to beat Cristiano Ronaldo’s Al-Nassr side 3-2 in Riyadh.

And Ronaldo was a rare absence from the score sheet as former Real Madrid team-mate Benzema was among those to bag for Al-Ittihad before Houusem Aouar converted a 94th-minute winner:

The former Lyon and Roma playmaker capitalized on some poor defending at the back post to convert at the death and keep his side six points clear at the summit after Al-Hilal won earlier in the day.

However, the victory came at a cost after star winger Moussa Diaby saw red after the full-time whistle, meaning he’ll have no part to play in Al-Ittihad’s upcoming slate of fixtures.

That means Stephen Bergwijn is the natural replacement to step into Blanc’s XI for the visit of Al-Fayha, who held his side to a 1-1 draw when these teams met in Buraidah back in January.

And it just so happens Bergwijn played a hefty role in snagging a share of the spoils on that occasion, assisting Fawaz Al-Soqoor’s 93rd-minute equalizer less than two minutes after Fashion Sakala broke the deadlock for Al-Fayha.
