Ally Schlegel and the Chicago Red Stars will take the pitch against Deyna Castellanos and Bay FC on Sunday night.
The Chicago Red Stars will head on the road this weekend to close out the week in NWSL play against Bay FC at PayPal Park in San Jose, California. Through seven games, the Red Stars are 3-1-3 with a total of 10 points on the table. They are tied with Portland and two points behind North Carolina while also two points ahead of Louisville. In three games in April, they won just one of them beating Seattle 2-1 with goals from Ally Schlegel and Mallory Swanson. They lost 1-0 against Angel City and 2-0 against Portland after starting their season in March with two wins and a draw. Earlier this week, they took on Washington and lost 4-2. After going down 2-0, Schlegel put in a goal to give the team some life, but Washington answered with two more quick goals to put it out of reach. Leilanni Nesbeth scored the last goal in stoppage time. Schlegel leads the team with three goals this season. Swanson has two and then there are four players tied with one goal each. As a team, they’ve only scored nine goals in seven games.

Bay FC’s season has not started much better. Through seven games they have won just two and lost five. That leaves the team with just six points and a negative-five-goal differential. The club is one point behind San Diego and Angel City while also being one point ahead of NJ/NY and Houston.
They won one game in April against Seattle 3-2 with goals from Kayla Sharples, Alex Loera, and Joelle Anderson. They lost earlier this week to Portland 3-2. Racheal Kundananji and Deyna Castellanos scored the two goals for Bay FC in the loss with the last goal in the 78th minute.
