After a season opening draw, Atlético Ottawa heads west to face Vancouver FC in early season road test on Sunday.

Winless in their last nine matches across all competitions, Vancouver FC welcomes Atlético Ottawa into Willoughby Community Park for a Sunday night tilt as the hosts look for their first win of the 2025 Canadian Premier League season as well as its first home win against a team not based in British Colombia since Week 2 of the 2024 campaign. Atlético Ottawa, who last season made a run to the CPL semifinals, opened its season with a 2-2 home draw against the HFX Wanderers last weekend and is unbeaten in its last two trips to Vancouver and have collected points in three of four matches against The Eagles since their expansion into the league in 2023.

Atlético midfielder David Rodriguez, on loan from Austin FC II of the MLS Next Pro league, scored a goal in last week’s come from behind effort that resulted in a draw against HFX, just his eighth goal as a professional since making his debut in 2019 with North Texas SC, helping that side win the 2019 USL League One Championship. Rodriguez, who will turn 23-years-old next month, was born in Mexico but represented the United States as part of the under-17 national team.

The CPL’s all-time leading scorer, Terran Campbell, made his debut with Vancouver after helping his two previous teams, Pacific FC and Forge FC, take home CPL titles, but got off to a slow start, posting just one touch inside the opponents box with no shots on goal. 

Atlético Ottawa leads the all-time series 5-1-2 and have held Vancouver scoreless in each of the last three meetings.
