After a semifinals run, York United kicks off the 2025 campaign in search of its fifth consecutive result at Vancouver FC.

Unbeaten in its first four trips to Willoughby Community Park in Langley, British Columbia, York United begins the 2025 Canadian Premier League season on the road at Vancouver FC under new manager Mauro Eustáquio who was promoted to the head job becoming the first former CPL player, and youngest to coach in the league. The Toronto side won its first ever playoff match last season and has focused on collecting players native to Ontario as they look to replace scorers Mo Babouli and Brian Wright, the 2024 CPL Player of the Year. Vancouver ended its second season last year going winless in its last eight matches scoring just five goals in that span.

The Nine Stripes enter the season with 14 players from the Greater Toronto area including veteran winger Massimo Ferrin who spent the last two seasons with HFX Wanderers where he scored 14 goals over two seasons. Ferrin, a finalist for the 2023 CPL Players’ Player Of the Year award, has played the last three seasons in Canada returning north of the border after two seasons in the USL with Loudoun United, scoring 24 goals across all competitions for League1 Ontario side Vaughan Azzurri in 2022.

Vancouver added forward Terran Campbell to the roster during the offseason, the all-time leading goal scorer in CPL history, who returns to British Columbia after a three-year stint with Forge FC where he won a pair of championships in 2022 and 2023. Campbell led B.C. side Pacific FC to a title in 2021 where he scored 25 goals over three seasons.

In four trips to Vancouver, York United is unbeaten winning three of the four contests over the past two seasons and is 6-2-1 over The Eagles across all competitions.
