York was on its way to a second win of the Canadian Premier League campaign after taking a half-time lead at Valour FC thanks to Gabriel Bitar’s quick reactions from a goalkeeper mistake.

That was before Valour came roaring back in the second period when Kristopher Twardek and Kelsey Egwu turned the scoreline on its head:

The exact same thing happened in York’s previous outing away to Pacific FC, where Bitar once again opened the scoring early before the team succumbed to an injury-time winner in Victoria.

Afshin Ghotbi’s side just so happened to knock Pacific out of this year’s Canadian Championship but were recently held to a 1-1 first-leg draw in their quarter-final clash against Cavalry.

Vancouver has now recorded just one defeat across its last six games, though the team has gone six straight road fixtures without a loss.

That may not concern a York United side that has won the last two editions of this head-to-head – both in British Columbia – and is more than two years removed from its latest loss to Vancouver.
