Choe Rim Jong and Korea DPR will take the pitch against Zara Shaw and England in the final Group C game on Wednesday.
England will take on Korea DPR in the final match of Group C in the FIFA U17 Women’s World Cup at CFC Stadium in Santiago De Los Caballeros in the Dominican Republic on Wednesday night. Korea DPR is on top of the group through two games with a 2-0-0 record. It is tied with England with six points, but it sits in the lead in Group C with a goal differential of six. Korea DPR beat Mexico in the team’s first game of the group stage with a 4-1 win. Choe Rim Jong scored in the 14th minute followed by Choe Il Son in the 26th minute. Choe Rim Jong went on to score two more goals in the win in the 34th and 85th minutes. In the second game of the group stage, Korea beat Kenya 3-0. This time, it was So Ryu Gyong who dominated scoring in the 8th and 11th minutes to give the game to Korea. Ri Kuk Hyang added an insurance goal in the 86th minute to boost Korea to the top of the group.

England is the No. 2 team in Group C. Though it is tied with Korea DPR with six points, England sits behind the nation in the group with a four-goal differential which is two behind Korea. England beat Kenya 2-0 in the team’s first game. Lola Brown converted a penalty in the 29th minute followed by a goal from Lauryn Thompson in the 87th minute.
In England’s second game against Mexico, it took the win 4-2. Zara Shaw scored in the 11th minute followed by Nelly Las in the 61st minute. Rachel Maltby and Olivia Johnson scored the final two goals. England might have won by more if it didn’t play the majority of the game down a player after receiving a red card in the 57th minute.
