Girona has found itself in a struggle for La Liga survival ahead of Monday trip to Espanyol. Watch the game live and for free on Fubo today.

After a remarkable 2023/24 campaign that saw it vying for the title, Girona travels to Espanyol on Monday merely hoping to keep its head above following a woeful downward spiral in form. Juggling European commitments alongside other domestic competitions has proved problematic for Los Gironistes, who now find themselves sat 13th in La Liga and only six points above the relegation zone with 12 games to go. Espanyol, on the other hand, has unearthed a rich vein of form and can move within two points of Monday’s opposition with a win having suffered a conclusive defeat in the reverse fixture.

And Girona – who has won just one and lost seven of its last nine games – may need the Macedonian at his best given Abel Ruiz is struggling with fitness following injury.

Former Chelsea midfielder Oriol Romeu is the other injury concern for Michel’s men, though the Catalan club should have close to a clean bill of health.

The same can’t be said for Espanyol, however, with each of Fernando Pacheco, Pablo Ramon and Jose Gragers set to sit this one out.
