Two of La Liga’s bottom-half rivals go head-to-head as Getafe hosts Sevilla on Saturday. Watch the game live and for free on Fubo today.

Getafe can move within a single point of Sevilla if it manages to book back-to-back wins in La Liga when the two teams face off at the Estadio Coliseum on Saturday. Consistency has been a serious concern for Jose Bordalas’ side so far this season, but a sudden spurt in results at the start of 2025 has given fresh hope of survival in Spain’s top flight after going five games unbeaten in all competitions. And Sevilla has stumbled upon its own lucky streak ahead of Week 22, having gone three league games without a loss for the first in nearly four months.

Recent fixtures between these sides have gone largely in favor of Sevilla, who defeated Getafe three times in a row last year alone, with two of those wins taking place at the Estadio Coliseum.

And Los Nervionenses displayed serious nerve to come from behind and beat Girona 2-1 in their latest away trip, marking just their second road victory of the league campaign to date.

Getafe isn’t traditionally a team that travels awfully well, but that reputation fell by the wayside when the Madrid outfit soared to a 3-0 triumph at Real Sociedad last weekend.

Christantus Uche opened the scoring for Bordalas & Co in San Sebastian, but it was Carles Perez who was the real hero of the day after bagging two for his side:

The last time Getafe celebrated four straight away wins was at the end of the 2017/18 season, a campaign in which the club finished eighth in La Liga and just three points shy of qualifying for Europe.

If current form persists, there’s no reason why the club can’t afford to dream of finishing among those places once more, while Sevilla is more accustomed to competing with the top eight.

It’s those days Garcia Pimienta is hoping to revive after a seriously sub-par 14th-place finish last season, with Sevilla’s away form in particular need of improvement.
