Six days after snapping its six-match winless streak in upset fashion against Villarreal, Alavés heads to the Canary Islands on Friday to face Las Palmas in search of the season sweep and pull itself out of the bottom three sides in La Liga as the season heads down its final stretch. Las Palmas are winless in 2025, a span of 11 matches since its last victory over Espanyol three days before Christmas, and have only collected one point in the last four home matches. In the first meeting this season in early-September, Alavés secured a 2-0 home victory with goals from Carlos Vicente and Toni Martínez giving Babazorros its second win of the season.

With two goals in his last four matches, Alavés forward Enrique García leads the team with 11 goals this season posting his highest goal total since he netted 12 goals with Eibar during the 2020-21 campaign. García, the 35-year-old Motilla del Palancar, Spain native, is in his second season with Alavés and ninth overall in La Liga after five seasons with Eibar and a pair as part of Osasuna before joining Alavés shortly after earning promotion to the top tier of Spanish football.

After bouncing around to five different clubs in La Liga in five seasons, Sandro landed a permanent deal with Las Palmas prior to the 2023-24 season and this season has blossomed into the forward Los Amarillos hoped he could be leading the club with eight goals including the breakthrough goal in a 1-1 draw with Real Valladolid two weeks ago.

Las Palmas has not defeated Alavés at home in La Liga since 2002 but had collected points in three consecutive matches in La Liga 2 from 2009 to 2023.
