Unbeaten in six straight matches, Celta aims for season sweep of Las Palmas and fourth straight win overall inside Municipal de Balaidos

Sitting just two points below the relegation line, Las Palmas heads into Monday’s fixture at Celta Vigo having collected points in two of its last three matches as it looks for its first win at Municipal de Balaidos since a La Liga 2 fixture 14 years ago. Las Palmas had tallied just one point in the previous seven matches and now aims to snap its five-match losing streak at Vigo. Celta Vigo has rocketed up from 14th place in the La Liga table to sit one point away from seventh over the last last six matches as Los Celestes have picked up four wins since early February with three of the four wins in that span coming at home.

Iago Aspas leads Celta with eight goals and three assists in 21 matches this season and has tallied four goals in his last 10 matches. The 37-year-old striker has spent all but two years of his career with Celta, a 14-game stint with English Premier League side Liverpool in 2013-14 and then a 16-match loan to Sevilla the following year, only to return to Celta in 2015-16 where he flourished in the club’s return to the top flight of Spanish Football. Aspas netted a career high 22 goals during the 2017-18 campaign and has 151 goals across all competitions since 2015.

Forwards Fabio Silva and Sandro lead Las Palmas with eight goals each with Silva netting three goals in his last six matches including a 90th minute penalty in a 2-2 draw against Alaves last Tuesday.

In the reverse fixture back in early October, Celta netted a first half goal from Borja Iglesias and played the final 34 minutes of the match down two men as Ilaix Moriba and Iago Aspas were sent off after both received two yellow cards in a four-minute span, yet managed to hold on for a 1-0 away victory.
