Espanyol is hoping to build on its biggest result of the season to date when it visits Real Sociedad on Sunday. Watch the game live and for free on Fubo today.

After beating La Liga leader Real Madrid last time out, Espanyol makes the trip to San Sebastian for a showdown against a Real Sociedad team that has lost its last three league games. Los Periquitos are enjoying their best run of the campaign to date after going undefeated in five, not to mention booking back-to-back wins for just the second time all season. La Real, on the other hand, is almost one month removed from its most recent league victory and will be desperate to turn the tide against an opponent it has managed to dominate in the last few seasons.

Imanol Alguacil’s side have won the last four consecutive clashes between these two clubs, or seven of the last eight if one looks back as far as September 2019.

That being said, La Real could do with a serious pick-me-up to get back to the kind of form that has seen the club vie for European places on a consistent basis in recent years.

Real Sociedad’s season went from bad to worse after the club recorded its fourth defeat in five matches after coming off second-best at Osasuna last weekend.

Ante Budimir came to the fore in Pamplona and put two past La Real, whose consolatory strike from Orri Oskarsson wasn’t enough to take anything from the match:

Espanyol beat Los Blancos thanks to a Carlos Romero decider that seriously angered the away supporters, many of whom felt the same player deserved to be sent off for a controversial challenge.

Manolo Gonzalez’s men have a gleaming opportunity to seal three wins on the bounce for the first time all season, but they’ll have to snap a serious dry patch on the road to do so.

Espanyol is one of only two teams in La Liga still yet to bag a road win already this term (Valencia being the other), while no team has accumulated fewer than its two points away this season.

Regional restrictions may apply.
