Barcelona holds a four-point edge over Real Madrid and with a win Saturday, coupled with a Celta Vigo upset of Madrid on Sunday, could position Barca to take home the La Liga title with a win in next weekend’s El Classico next fixture.

With a team-leading 25 goals this season Barcelona forward Robert Lewandowski leads La Liga, three ahead of Real Madrid’s Kylian Mbappé, has now posted 99 goals across all competitions in three seasons with Barca. Scoring two goals in his last three matches, Real Valladolid forward Mamadou Sylla has now taken the team lead in goals. Sylla scored 8 goals last season helping Valladolid earn promotion from Segunda División and now has 71 goals as a pro.

Real Valladolid beat Barcelona 3-1 in May of 2023 for its lone win in this series since 2014 and have managed to score just one goal in the other eight fixtures against Barca in that span.
