Atlas and Cruz Azul face-off on Wednesday in Liga MX action.

League-leader Cruz Azul took a 2-0 finish over Santos on Saturday night at Ciudad de los Deportes Stadium. Jorge Sánchez and Ángel Sepúlveda both found the back of the net to secure all three points for la Máquina in Mexico City. Meanwhile, los Laguneros continued their six-match winless streak in league play.

Second place Toluca was unable to secure all three points, however the club still maintained its standing in the Liga MX table.

Los Diablos Rojos hosted León on Saturday night at Nemesio Díez Stadium in a match that ended in a 2-2 finish. Paulinho scored both of the club’s goals, while Bruno Méndez received a red card late in the second half.

Meanwhile, the winningest club in Liga MX history, Club América, came away with a statement 5-0 thrashing of Mazatlán FC over the weekend. Henry Martín found the back of the net twice in the big win away from home, to go along with goals from Rodrigo Aguirre Brian Rodríguez and Israel Reyes.

In other action, Guadalajara met Pumas UNAM to a scorless finish on Saturday night at Akron Stadium.

On Friday, third place Tigres UANL took a 3-0 win at Caliente Stadium, thanks to goals from Nicolas Ibañez, Juan Brunetta and Marcelo Flores.
