Before that, el Rebaño was able to come away with a 2-0 victory over Santos Laguna on Nov. 5 at Corona Stadium. Cade Cowell and Yael Padilla found the back of the net to secure all three points for the club away from home.

Meanwhile, Atlas finished the tournament as the 10th-placed team in the Liga MX standings with 22 points in 17 matches throughout the campaign. The club, who is also from Guadalajara, had an overall record of five wins, seven draws and five losses in the regular season.

Los Zorros were winless in their last six league outings, dating back to its narrow 3-2 victory over none other than Chivas on Oct. 5.

Jhon Murillo, Jeremy Márquez and Rivaldo Lozano all found the back of the net for Atlas at Akron Stadium. Ricardo Marin and Roberto Alvarado, meanwhile, scored both of their goals for Guadalajara once the match was already 3-0 in the second half.
