It was a bounce-back win for Tigres UANL following a 1-0 loss to Querétaro on Sep. 17. That defeat snapped a two-match winning streak for Tigres, which saw the club from Monterrey take a 3-1 win over Pumas UNAM and a 1-0 win over San Luis.

Ozziel Herrera and Fernando Gorriarán got on the scoresheet, with Herrera finding the back of the net twice to secure all three points away from home on Sep. 1.

Then, Gorriarán scored in the 98th minute against San Luis to take the win at Universitario Stadium.
