As did Canada, Australia also played two friendly matches in September, though both of them came against its next-door neighbor in New Zealand. Australia won the first game, just 1-0, on a goal from Maximilien Balard. Four goals were scored in the second match, though Australia still won, 3-1. Mohamed Toure had two goals, while Nestory Irankunda had the other.
