Christen Press and Angel City FC will take on Katie Lund and Racing Louisville in an NWSL matchup on Saturday night.
Following a scary scene two weeks ago, Angel City FC will return to the pitch to take on Racing Louisville FC at BMO Stadium. During a game against the Utah Royals, Savy King collapsed on the field, her heart stopping from a previously unknown heart condition. Medical staff on site administered CPR and were able to get a rhythm before rushing her to the hospital. The Angel City defender will be out after recovering from surgery after doctors found an underlying condition. Angel City is currently sitting in seventh place in the NWSL standings with a record of 4-2-3 for a total of 14 points. Following the event, the team played to a 2-0 win and went on to drop a 2-0 game against Angel City FC last weekend.

Racing Louisville will look to add another three points to its tally on Saturday with a win as the team is currently 3-2-4 on the season with a total of 11 points. Last weekend, the team took on the Seattle Reign, falling in a 1-0 defeat. Despite dominating offensively with 20 shots to Seattle’s four, Racing could not put one in the back of the net. Seattle scored a few minutes before halftime and the scoreline stood until the final whistle. Jordyn Bloomer came up with two saves in net for Racing, but was unable to stop the game-winning goal. This week, the team will look to another strong offensive performance to move up several spots in the standings with a win.
Racing and Angel City last met in September and the game went in Louisville’s favor with a 2-1 victory.
Savy King was released from the hospital after nine days and is now recovering at home with her family.
