They opened up their regular season with a massive win over Chicago, 6-0. Five different players scored in the outing, led by Barbra Banda, who had two late goals in the 80th and 87th minutes. They won last weekend against NY/NJ Gotham, 2-0. Orlando was the beneficiary of a second-minute own goal before Marta converted a penalty in the 45th minute.

The Wave are 1-1-0 through its two games to open the 2025 season in the NWSL. They have a total of four points, which is tied with Bay FC and Seattle. However, they are behind Bay FC by one goal in the differential. They are two points behind the league leaders and one point ahead of those teams who have lose games already at three points.

They drew 1-1 against Angel City in their first game of the season, with their only goal coming from Gia Corley in the fifth minute. They bounced back and beat Utah 3-2 in their next game last weekend on the back of another goal from Corley. She was joined by María Sánchez and Adriana Leon with goals in that game.
