Arsenal makes the short trip to Brentford to kick off 2025 with a London derby on Thursday. Watch the game live and for free on Fubo today.

There’s no time to waste for Arsenal as it opens its account for 2025 on Thursday, when Mikel Arteta’s side hope to get the new calendar year underway with a bang at Brentford. The Gunners are unbeaten in 11 games but begin the New Year with a difficult-looking trip to the Gtech Community Stadium, where Thomas Frank’s men have recorded just a single loss so far this season. Luckily for Arsenal, that loss just so happens to have come in Brentford’s last home outing, and Arteta would like nothing more than to christen 2025 by condemning the Bees to a second straight slip.

Brentford just so happened to mark its Premier League debut with a stunning upset of Arsenal back in August 2021, but the head-to-head has leaned more convincingly in favor of the Gooners since then.

Kai Havertz supplied the decider against Ipswich Town just after Christmas, with the Gunners forced to dig deep before snatching the three points against promoted opposition:

Meanwhile, Frank & Co have lose much of their momentum from earlier this term and are without a win in four, not to mention failing to score in each of their last two games.

It doesn’t help the west London outfit is currently dealing with a slew of injuries, with no fewer than 11 first-team squad members potentially missing the visit of Arsenal for one reason or another.

Bukayo Saka is one of only a few serious concerns for Arteta, though the winger’s absence alone threatens to have a major impact on Arsenal’s fortunes in attack.
