Mikel Arteta takes Arsenal to England’s south coast on Saturday in the hope Arsenal can extend its 12-match unbeaten run and keep up the pressure on Liverpool at the head of the Premier League. Bukayo Saka’s injury absence has thrown a spanner in the works for the Gunners of late, though they’ve o far managed to make dow without ‘Star Boy’ and pieced together a four-win streak in recent weeks. Brighton, on the other hand, has gone its last seven games without a win as German manager Fabian Hurzeler hopes to make a move meaningful impact in the top half of the table.

Arsenal’s other stars will be expected to step up in the coming weeks considering talisman Saka is expected to miss around two months of action after undergoing hamstring surgery.

That being said, the remaining star talent at the Gunners’ disposal most recently managed to get the job done at Brentford in midweek to stick within six points of Liverpool (who has a game in hand).

Arteta’s side conceded first at the Gtech Community Stadium on Wednesday but still managed to come away with a 3-1 win after Gabriel Jesus continued to turn his form around with another goal:

Gabriel Martinelli and Mikel Merino also got on the score sheet to underline the depth of threats at Arsenal’s disposal, which was all the more impressive in light of a bug reportedly affecting the squad.

Jurrien Timber’s suspension means change will be required at left-back for Arsenal, with Myles Lewis-Skelly potentially coming in and Riccardo Calafiori possibly switching to right-back.

Hurzeler has also been forced to rotate heavily with so many injuries and absences this term, with former Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck among those certain to miss out against his old club.

Evan Ferguson is also sidelined in attack, while Ferdi Kadioglu, Jack Hinshelwood and Mats Wieffer will also be out of contention to take on Arteta’s men.

Regional restrictions may apply.
