Arne Slot’s first taste of the Merseyside derby will see Everton look to slow Liverpool’s roll on Saturday at the Premier League summit.

Premier League pace-setter Liverpool will make the one-mile journey to Goodison Park on Saturday as Arne Slot looks to keep his side ticking in his first experience of the Merseyside derby. The Reds sit nine points clear at the top of the table and have won seven games in a row across all competitions, but the Toffees would like nothing more than to make their nemeses come unstuck in Week 15. Sean Dyche’s side are on a high after thumping Wolves 4-0 on Wednesday to mark by far their biggest result of the campaign to date, hoping to strike fear into a Liverpool team that’s conceded just twice in in its last five outings.

Mohamed Salah has been a critical component in Liverpool’s imperious run of form under new manager Slot, so much so that Everton will be glad this could be his last outing at Goodison.

The 32-year-old will soon enter the last six months of his Liverpool deal in what could be the biggest transfer saga of 2025, and a run of nine goals in his last seven league games is proof why.

His most recent trick was a critical double in Wednesday’s visit to Newcastle, who unfortunately equalized through Fabian Schar after a goalkeeper gaffe in the 90th minute.

Salah has scored seven goals in 11 meetings with Everton, though that record has improved over time given six of those strikes have come in the past eight encounters.

Slot will be out to make a positive start in his Merseyside derby history after goals from Jarrad Branthwaite and Dominic Calvert-Lewin gave Everton the win in Jurgen Klopp’s final attempt.

The incumbent will look to succeed where his predecessor could not, with Liverpool hoping to extend its pristine record on the road so far this season.

A solitary draw at Arsenal last month is the only occasion in which the Reds have dropped points on the road, while Everton has failed to win its last three home fixtures.
