On a six-match losing skid, Leicester City aims for its first win at Manchester City since 2020 on Wednesday.

With star striker Erling Haaland sidelined with an ankle injury, possibly for the remainder of the English Premier League campaign, Manchester City looks to keep pace with Chelsea for the final UEFA Champions League spot on Wednesday when it welcomes Leicester City into Etihad Stadium. Leicester City has not netted a goal in six consecutive league matches and has only mustered one goal in its last seven fixtures across all competitions, last scoring in a 2-1 FA Cup loss at Manchester United back in early February. Man City has won six consecutive EPL fixtures against The Foxes with four of the five victories coming by two or more goals.

With Haaland on the bench for the foreseeable future, the scoring responsibilities for Manchester City fall to midfielder Phil Foden, who is second on the team in goals this season, and newly acquired forward Omar Marmoush, who has tallied four goals in his first seven matches with the club. Marmoush, the 26-year-old Egypt native, netted 27 goals in 46 games with German Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt before joining Man City during the January transfer window.

Leicester City veteran Jamie Vardy again leads The Foxes in scoring with seven goals this season and is three goals away from his eighth double-digit goal scoring season and first since the 2021-22 campaign.

Under manager Pep Guardiola, Manchester City has won 13 consecutive matches in the month of April, have won 21 of 22 matches against newly promoted clubs including each of the last 12 fixtures.
